The problem

The site was set to noindex, which told Google not to list any page. Nobody could find it in search, even by name. Under that, the homepage title was just the domain name, with no description and no main heading, and the Business Profile had no reviews while nearby gardeners had five or six.

What I did

I switched the noindex off on 12 July 2026, and sent Google the sitemap on 18 July. Then Foundations: 38 changes to the homepage, header and footer, built on a private preview so the owner could check them first. Titles, descriptions, one main heading, the suburbs they serve, their own testimonials and photos, and an email address on their own domain. I set up the Business Profile's hours, services and service areas. Nothing went live until the owner approved it, and I checked the changes on the live site from outside.

What happened

Foundations closed on 11 August 2026 with a dated baseline. The baseline was small: in the site's first two weeks back in Google, Search Console showed 6 clicks in total, and the only searches it listed were for the business name. Two things were still open at the close. Google has not verified the Business Profile yet, and the clean-up of old directory listings had not started. The first measured read against the baseline goes here when it is published. Awareness, a page for each main service and area, was proposed on 27 August 2026.
